Best Vinyl Vacuum Head?

I have a vinyl-lined pool and I hate the vacuum head that I have. Who has one that they absolutely love? And why?

Good morning! I'm surprised there haven't been any replies yet. Let's try to get this discussion moving along. What type of vacuum head are you using now?

I have a triangle one that I hate. The brushes were getting worn, and for lack of any better ideas, I bought a replacement (same model, same well known brand that I can't recall off the top of my head), but the bristles on the new one were worse than the old after a single season. They became very brittle and just break away. To rub salt in the wound, I only vacuum at opening and maybe once or twice throughout the year. My solution was to buy a robot.

Hayward. And you can buy just the bristles for $22. that triangle head worked best in my ingroumd vinyl pool and the rectangle roller one worked best on the above ground / semi inground we inherited by moving.

I have seen reviews of all 3 styles with both good and bad. I think it comes down to the pump and hose size to find the sweet spot for your pool as to which head works best on your setup. Of course, any pool vacuuming is like trying to punch fog, so the 'good one' may still be maddening at times.

I love the Hayward Aqua Bug. It is fairly cheap and does the job very well.

I have been researching this, mostly on Amazon, since we tossed our plastic triangle head a few weeks ago because the non replaceable bristles were falling off. Right now I'm using just the hose, duct taped to my pole, with the pole tip behind the hose so only the plastic hose contacts the vinyl surface. It's tedious like pressure washing where you only clean a narrow strip in every pass and spend a lot of energy. I am wary of heads with replaceable brushes because I'm seeing people complain that they fall off. It would be nice to have some wheels to roll, like some rubbery wheels, so it takes less human energy to move it around. I'm dealing with DE and "dust" that blew out of our return after we cleaned and reassembled our DE filter. It's sterile but inaesthetic down there. Haven't decided on anything yet. May 2024 edit: We bought a Dolphin Premier by Maytronics last year. Such a relief, he does a great job!
