Yup. Wrought Iron (i misspelled before) has been a style for 4k years. It's just far cheaper now in hollow aluminum. And it don't last like it used to.

The intoxication issue should not be a problem since we don't drink and have no plans to have heavy drinkers over. The wall does come up some at the parking area but if a vehicle hit it hard enough it could come in. And the fence would not stop it either but it does provide visibility. After things are finished, I may put steel post or large post every so many feet.
This is part of a steel one I fabricated/welded at our entrance. I have no idea what the steel would cost but on the deck, aluminum might be a better option as far as rust is concerned.

A little progress has been made towards completion. Several months ago when the stone masons were here, they left and said they'd be back in a day or two to install the spillway on the spa. They finally got that completed.
Got some fence quotes and thought they were all high but after pricing the steel to fabricate it myself, I decided to let the contractor do it. I guess like everything else lately, everything has become inflated. Fencing scheduled to be completed middle of next month.
Builder says he will order the equip and have it delivered soon. Dependent on rain, they may set the equip and do the pebble tec next week.
If all goes well, should be able to fill with water in the near future. This has been a monumental process and I'm looking forward to the finish line.
PS: The black mark on the spillway isn't a crack, it's where the cutting wheel left a mark on the edge.

Don't hold your breath as there are some major supply issues with some equipment. Here is hoping yours is not one of them!!!

They? I doubt they care. But I may try a little sandpaper.
If the sandpaper does not work you can try and sanding barrel on a Dremel tool using a very light touch.
It looks almost like paint or label material from a cut off wheel. Yes, I have a Dremel and lots of the abrasive tips. I'll probably take a look at it tomorrow and see what it needs.
Try an inconspicous spot on the underside first. It would suck to get rid of the black and replace it with a polished streak instead.
Three partial pallets that's been sitting the driveway for many months, Some the workers have found them to be a good hiding place for beer bottles, trash and construction debris.
I tried a stainless steel brush but sandpaper worked a little better,
The cleaning crew is here prepping for the plaster which may be done tomorrow.
I didn't until just now. I am told that the equip will be installed about the same time the plaster is done. It feels like Santa came early!
Now go out to the new toys and grab the manuals! I am SO happy they made it there!!!

I probably need to inventory what they brought. I saw a booster pump for the cleaner, a 1.85vsp for the spa jets, a 2.7vsp for the pool, cartridge filter, robot, hoses, salt, controller and bunches of little boxes. The builder has the heat pump with him. I can't imagine how they are going to fit all that stuff in a 6 x 7 area but I do have space off to the side if needed.
Yes you do need to inventory it to make sure they are all the correct models. Good catch!
The VSP and the controller are same as mine, is the filter C4030 or larger? Mine is C4030.
