Hello from Melville NY--Long Island.

You have to be able to see the bottom for swimmer safety in case somebody was drowning. It would be rare but things could turn tragic in 5 minutes or less. As long as you can see the bottom you can swim at up to and including SLAM level of the FC/CYA Levels

Do I need to address the other numbers? Calcium? Hardness? Etc.…

Just read the thread and want to say keep going! I would stop listening to the "pool people" you hired and listen to the folks on this forum.. they truly know their stuff! Keep the SLAM going, maintain FC levels per the SLAM chart based on your CYA, and don't worry about PH/CH/TA yet until you finish the SLAM. Keep that FC up during the day!

My vote is to ditch the "pool people" and do it yourself, but that is indeed your call. I just made the switch a couple of weeks ago and LOVE being in control of my own pool. Listening to yourself and this forum is much easier than trying to listen to "pool people", pool stores, and all the other opinions out there. Trust the TFP process.

Please keep posting updates and pictures, we love to see it.

Hooray!! Overnight chrlorine loss was ZERO. it held at 20.
cleanin the filter today in sure it’s light as the pressure is at 5-6psi.
I think this SLAM is done.
thank you to one an all.

*votes to hold SLAM for one more day because it’s easy at this point and will help make absolutely sure it’s all gone tomorrow.

Well you can see the bottom, so that good. At this point you are safe to swim. Technically you are not crystal clear, so I would keep SLAM level for a few more days. You can probably reduce your testing to once or twice a day.

But I would start enjoying that pool. The fruits of your labor.

Just a reminder, its safe to swim at SLAM level.

+1. It is not clear until you can’t walk by without saying to yourself ‘*4 letter word of choice* THATs CLEAR!!’
