What did you do to your pool today?

I was a little bored, so I tested for Phosphates. I did not have any, but added some SeaKlear anyway since I already had a bottle, and I plan on replacing my filter in a few days.

BTW. The next time someone mentions Leslies testing let them know about Phosphate testing. It is a meticulous test that requires adding a reagent, waiting two minutes, then adding another reagent and waiting another minute.

They love Phosphate testing but there is 0 change they do it right!!!

I keep my FC at 7 during the season, and decided that 10 for the winter would be a good level, in case of any errant leaves and :poop: that might get in the pool (I cover, but you know how that goes sometimes).

I check the FC once a week. Seems if the temp is above 55 for an extended period, I lose a good bit of FC. We've had a cold spell for the last few weeks, highs near 40 and lows in the low 30s upper 20s. Last Saturday my FC was 9.5, didn't need to add chlorine. Crystal clear.

Same as markayash - nothing. I may take the time this weekend to hose off the solid safety cover since my daughter's dogs put their muddy paws all over it. I won't test any water until I'm ready to remove the cover something late March/early April.

Tried testing FC and the solution turned red instead of yellow..Tested PH, when I saw it was off the chart it was off the chart at a bright pink..Added almost a gallon of acid, waiting for it to settle down again so I can retest :)
First winter with no floater and tablets so didn't think to watch PH

It's cold outside. Ice and snow. My Magna Latch stopped working and I have to go through the gate to get to my barbecue which I do use all winter. Yesterday I took the latch off and opened it up. Today I fixed the piece that holds the metal latch rod. The piece with the barbed tabs looks like it is designed to break.Epoxy did the trick.

I believe they have a lifetime warranty- mine does. I kept my proof of purchase for this reason.
 
The recent warmer weather in Houston area has raised pool water temperature to 65 deg F. Spa is still good at 95deg F.
Have plenty of leaves that continue to drop - daily cleaning of skimmer baskets, cleaner bag and using scoop net as needed.
Pool chemistry is within ranges and water is clear and crisp!!! Almost tempted to heat the whole pool - nay, just kidding!!!!

Interesting my water is crystal clear and when I tested my FC its around 1 if that..Will add a little and bring it up some but planning a AA treatment in a month so want it to stay low..Just have to be ready for spring when it gets warm and pollen hits usually all within the same week
 
Tested the water, turned up the SWCG percentage a bit, ordered stabilizer to get ready for swim weather. Now that it's getting a bit warmer, longer days, and soon ..more use, I really want to stay ahead of the increased chlorine demand better than last year (which was my first springtime with the pool).
