For my pool I usually drop it 3" below the skimmers and install skimmer gizmo's. If we get a lot of rain I use a sump pump and drop it back down

The attached spa is constantly getting rain and water, my question is should I just leave a ft of water in it knowing that only the top inch or so might freeze or keep using the sump pump all the time. When I use the sump pump I am not getting any water out of the pipes.
I can't put plugs in the drain valves and they are below ground level

I live in Georgia where we might see mid teens at night but rarely more then a couple of days

Drop the spa water so it is above the seats and below the tile line. You don't want freezing water to be on the tile line. And you don't want ice right on the surface of the seats. Anywhere in between should be fine.

You have a solid cover on the spa for the winter?

Thanks, no I don't have a solid cover.
Got in wife trouble once when I used a tarp and sat these big stone swan plant holders to hold it tight. You can guess the outcome, tarp and both broke swan plant holders ended up in the spa :(
