Taking a bath in pool

Years ago I lived in an apartment complex and after a long day at work I liked to take my shower kit down to the pool and have a nice bath. It was usually late and nobody was in the pool. I would not do that if others were swimming. Of course at the time I was not the "pool guy." This was a big pool. Maybe 50,000 gallons.

So now that I am a pool owner and the designated "pool guy," I'm wondering if a little shampoo and Ivory soap will really mess with the chemistry of an almost 15000 gallon pool.

Thanks.

Think bubbles, lots of them. And chlorine consumption will rise.

Waterline will get scummy.

Depending on other ingredients of the soap could also gum up a filter some.

We both take a bath in our pool when we lose power as we have a couple of times these past two years due to storms. I use pool water to rinse my hair of the shampoo and conditioner OUTSIDE of the pool though.....think long hair so lots of S&C. Better safe than sorry. We did not notice any problems with the water during that time. Was not fun as I like my showers/baths HOT but at least I was clean!

The amount of chlorine required to break down the shampoo, soap, and grime you wash off of yourself will cost more than the hot water you would use to draw yourself a bath indoors.

It really depends on how much soap and shampoo you use and how often you do it. There may also be some gross-out factor from folks who don't care to swim in your giant "bath tub"! You will go through more bleach, and I imagine hair products with silicone and other hair smoothers may gunk up on the waterline over time.

Wow, just wow... If ya gotta use pool water... You jump in, swim around a bit, then GET OUT. Use soap and shampoo over the deck or dirt, rinse yourself and your gunk off with a bucket or two of pool water over the head (draining "to waste" as it were), BEFORE you get back in the pool. People, people, work with me!

I would probably just sit in the hot tub :) The leak detection company had an opening come up so coming today..Something about a guy name Dirk called them saying " help this guy, he is crazy" :)
Now just have to hope it's not under the driveway :(

They have a Hydraulic missile that pounds a path under it. No biggie for the utility crew. I’ve been on many a job site locating damaged buried utilities and we go right to the fence, mailbox, or single cherry tree planted in the general direction of the line. Even with a 40 year old line it would be rare for the untouched line to just fault. Sometimes the previous owner ripped out a tree or other landscaping that no longer makes sense 10 years later with wide open grass, but 3 ft under the driveway *should* be undisturbed.

We had the driveway replaced about 8 years ago and they ran a new PVC water line..Old one was PVC but at ground level..They rented a ditchwich and buried it so it's strange its leaking that bad considering 2/3 is under the driveway and it's hasn't settled

Suppose to be here in a few hours, said they blow air and water and can listen and find the location..My dad had one under his slab floor and they nailed it in the exact location..

Haaaaaaaa !!!! Water line. Gotcha. You were taking about meter to house so I was thinking it was an electric problem. PVC is a whole different beast but they know what they are doing just the same. Good luck !!

Plumber said they can tunnel under but water enters the same wall as power so said they may be nervous about doing it.

I work in IT and we were having Fiber ran up to our building..Well the boring team hit a main feed which took our several buildings ( all 4 to 10 story ) in a 1/2 mile radius..I walked down and the Ga power guy was mad to say the least..He was yelling at them and looked at me and said who are you! I said I just work there and swiftly left.
My co-worked heard and saw it..Said small mushroom cloud and shock the ground

I have a vague recollection that you bury water lines (maybe all underground stuff?) surrounded by some amount of sand. It makes for a warning system when digging, but I suspect it also provides a bit of shock absorption / movement protection to help avoid failures. I used 811 recently before digging 40 holes for new plants. Didn't want to take a chance. I was completely wrong about where I thought some of those runs were. Turns out I've got high-voltage running right under where I was drilling (like, the power-the-whole-street lines). Glad I checked.

Ditch Witch is my hero. Rented a post-hole digger for the holes, too. Turned 40 days of digging holes with a shovel into 40 minutes!

I always call when I dig. I have several big (28" - 42") gas and oil lines running through the property next to mine. My house and 3.5 acres used to be part of the original farm that was divided. It's amazing how quickly they respond when you say you are planting trees with a tree spade. Got a similar reaction when the geothermal guys called about trenching along the edge of the property. The regular utility guys are quick but the pipeline guys make house calls right after you call.

My wife worked down the road and called me and said " our whole building just lost power" Yeah I may know why :)
I was shocked, they rerouted and did their magic fairly quick and got stuff back up.
