Old Member, New House and Pool

One of my pools have a large oak and I mean large. You can't keep the pool clean for five minutes. It has what to drop all summer long. Has a major pollen season then some other junk foliage before the leaves then the big leaves catch the wind and those drop by again and again, when the acorns start it just won't quit. I call that pool acorn soup. They need to get rid of it because you can't enjoy a pool like this.

On of my fav colors too!! LOVE IT!

That pool looks SO much better already! Now give that company a call that Matt told you about to get that line off your tile and it will be very close to purrfect!

I did contact them and just waiting for them to get back with me, the horrid white ring was next on my list along with the broken light but the guy that did my drain is going to give me a quote foe the light part so we will see someday ?

More updates and new problems lol I may need make a new post and I can if needed so just let me know so much has happened since lol

I won't lie or pretty it up after draining, cleaning, refilling I let it go too long and the trees didn't help at all.. I still haven't done bead blasting yet so that is on my todo list next week just because I have been trying to work through other problems which were many First was skimmer wasn't working so I assumed a clog somewhere got a drain king and used it both directions which seemed to have done the trick, while that was going on I noticed my filter constantly had NO pressure and the bleeder wasn't working (now we did replace the grids) and I got a new gauge from Tftestkits but still no pressure, im still dealing with that lol Skimmer is working, pump drawing water and has never been dry so it is just weird. I still can't figure out what valves do what (I did figure out skimmer/main drain ones after I got skimmer working) but the rest I have no idea the returns have never been powerful and cant really see them working so it's hard to use those as a determination for anything, I am completely stumped at this point and my husband is getting annoyed thinking we have to shell out for all new equipment (which I wouldn't think we do) or he gets fed up with my skills and just hounds me to hire someone

If anyone had ideas Im open to them

Christina, Girl you just can catch a break!

I do have an idea about your filter pressure and poor return flow.....................pump impeller! If you have stuff caught on the impeller that will mess with all of that. How to fix:

-turn OFF the breaker to that pump!
-disconnect the pump from the pump basket (share a pic and we can help you figure it out how to get it apart if you needs up to)
-look right in that hole where the basket came from. Is there anything in there? The times I had this problem there were a few leaves in the impeller.

Lets see what you find and we will go from there!!

Tell your hubby you have TFP for a LOT cheaper than hiring someone!!!

I have a few things to try out today to try and narrow down the problems

Let us know what you try and what happens when try each one so we can learn from you!!

first thing I did was remove the pressure gauge and run it to see if water would come out of there, that worked and after a bit a stream of water came out (nothing major but a nice stream).. shut it down and replaced the gauge which still showed no pressure but then it started dripping from the bleeder opening,

think I am going to replace that whole top assembly it's cheap and easy enough.. now to figure out backwashing lol it's the simplest things that are the most puzzling... I replaced the old beat up hose(easy right) with a new hose but when I try to bsckwash now, water is just shooting everywhere from where hose clamps to pipe, it's all very odd lol I miss my hard plumbed backwash from Cali

I have pretty much decided to get a swcg.. I am going to go with circupool edge 25.. so next week should get interesting since my gut tells me I am going to need to redo a lot of plumbing to do this, I have NO space after the filter to work with and the filter is pretty much against 2 walls.. so I am hoping maybe someone can step me through what I am going to have to do Here is a pic of the area I am working with

I would get a bigger SWCG. You live in Arizona. Just 2X sizing is not much. You will be running it 12-14 hours per day at 100% to get your FC needs. With a SS pump, that can get expensive.

As far as plumbing, others are better than I. Explain what the three lines on the return side all go to. And if you run through all of them or just certain ones.

I will look at the bigger ones and your guess is probably better than mine on the 3 lines but here is my guesses: 1. Normal returns, 2. Waterfall 3. I think there are returns/jets on the bench that I accidentally had turn on ONCE when I was messing with valves lol

So do you run all three at the same time or just the normal returns with the other two not very often.

I try just to have normal returns but looks like the sheer descent dribbles but not gushing at least, my pain point is still trying to figure out what does what lol I did put the circupool edge40 in my cart to remind myself ?

I was asking which one you primarily use as it might be a way to install the SWCG after the distribution on the return side.

So you have the normal returns and waterfall on all the time?
