I think it is in the same family. loquats is a Japanese plum. When ripe yellow orange it is very sweet but is is also tart at the same time. They have mostly one large seed however some of mine have 2 or 3 seeds. They fruit twice a year in south florida however mine only fruit once a year guess I am too far north.Are Loquats similar to Kumquats ?
