Pancake Night ..... but, because I know @Arizonarob cares so much about “sustainable living” I was sure to use only those products that have a low carbon footprint -

And it’s amazing how they combine to create such an authentic tasting meal. One problem though ... they take on a strange shape -

I see you’ve been left unsupervised in the “As seen on TV” section of Walmart again.

Nah, I don’t shop at Walmart....to “upscale” for me ?

So some residents of my household kept whining that we didn’t have any non-stick pans. My response was always, “If you know how to cook properly, you don’t need a non-stick pan!” Well, that bit of sage wisdom wasn’t appreciated. So when I was in Costco last, they had a nice set of Gotham Pro “ceramic titanium” coated non-stick anodized aluminum pans for $30....well worth the price to shut up the peanut gallery. They’re not bad as far as non-stick pans go and they are not-Teflon which is good enough.

The water is finally at 80 and I hopped in. After dinner. But first I reverse seared a nice trip tip on the BGE for tacos.

Are Loquats similar to Kumquats ?
I think it is in the same family. loquats is a Japanese plum. When ripe yellow orange it is very sweet but is is also tart at the same time. They have mostly one large seed however some of mine have 2 or 3 seeds. They fruit twice a year in south florida however mine only fruit once a year guess I am too far north.

Prepper Pizza night!!! On the BGE with my baking steel.

I just finished the first food cooked on our new Rec-Tec grill today - a nice rack of baby back ribs...a little comfort food while trying to self quarantine with the family and a kid home from school.

Sauteed greens with garlic ( lots of garlic), air fried potatoes, and Memphis style ribs.

Stay healthy ? everyone.

Below are the Ribs just off the grill ? they turned out great for a first time using a pellet grill. Cooked them at 230 for 2-2-30mins.

We are back in a winter storm pattern here in Nor Cal so we cooked while it finally stormed for real for the first time since probably December, happily testing out having an easy access grill just off the upstairs kitchen.
