Hole on the bottom of intex liner

If you don't remove the rock, you run the risk of it tearing the patch. If possible, I'd probably drain, remove the rock, then apply your patch and refill. They do make wet patches. I've recently bought one at our local Rural King to repair a pool float.

    Intex Pool In Trouble

Can you find a strong young man (or woman)to help you spread it out so you can clean it easier? Before I found TFP, I had the same pool. I would spray Chlorox Cleanup amd scrub, then rinse thoroughly before filling. Now I would probably use bleach water and scrub, then shop vac the water out and...

What did you do to your pool today?

Saturday I removed the solar cover, (without dumping the leaves and pine needles in, I add, lol), scooped out the leaves and admired my clean pool...... Only to have the wind shift late Saturday night and blow new junk back in. I went out this afternoon to get some of it out, and was freezing...

What did you do to your pool today?

I picked a few leaves off of the cover and brushed a little half-heartedly where I could reach without moving the cover the whole way off. Waiting for the leaves to finish falling off the trees near the pool, then I'll remove the cover. Thinking I might end up with pine needles in it, it's been...

What did you do to your pool today?

Went out and removed the cover, water still looks great, and the chlorine is holding. Only adding twice a week at this point. It's very hot for late September. Water is 74 right now, we MIGHT be able to get in for a quick swim tomorrow. Latest we have ever swam that I can remember, is around the...

    Howdy from South Central PA

For the best results, it's recommended to close when the water hits 60 degrees. In my experience, when the water is below 70, it doesn't use the chlorine up as fast, so maintaining a few extra weeks isn't a huge problem. (After your SLAM is done.)

What did you do to your pool today?

The water was a chilly 70 degrees, but I got in and brushed and vacuumed anyway. It's been over a month since we were able to swim, but the water still looks good.

    Howdy from South Central PA

Welcome! I'm northwest of you, in DuBois! If you spend time reading here all winter, you'll be all set in the spring for a sparkly pool next summer!

    What's your current pool temp?

Glad I didn't get in to vacuum last weekend when the water was 64. It was nearly 70 yesterday, so even though it will still be chilly today, my legs shouldn't go numb, lol.

What did you do to your pool today?

Was surprised when I tested for FC and there still was some, after not tending to the pool after five days. I brushed and scooped leaves. Water still clear, temperature at 64 degrees.I also put away all the floats and supplies I won't need until next spring.

Leave the steps in for the winter?

I left mine in last year. (Central Pennsylvania) I just made sure to pour some chlorine around them and swish it with my brush quite often in the spring, when I opened the pool. I also take the end of the vacuum off the hose and sweep under and behind them regularly throughout the summer.

SLAM - not helping my chlorine demand

What have you put in the pool prior to the SLAM? Any of the pool store's products? (Taking into account anything a few weeks before) We are finding some stores are using things with bromine, etc. that can really mess with the chemistry. * oops, just saw someone else already asked this.....

Liquid chlorine getting hard to find

I noticed Walmart didn't put the 10% on rollback this year. Last year I got mine at Rural King. This year, they were trying to sell last year's stock at the start of the season. I didn't go back. Sometimes Ollie's has it, but it's two towns over, I didn't get there to check, so I just bought it...

    What's your current pool temp?

I might be able to close next week at the rate it's going here! The water 66 this afternoon. :( air temperature was barely in the 50's, so it will likely drop even more tonight.

    worst summer

Did you ever pass the OCLT before dropping you FC when you thought the SLAM was done? We usually recommend to the the SWG off during the SLAM, to save wear and tear, and definitely off for the OCLT. If you end the SLAM too sone, algae will almost always come back.

What did you do to your pool today?

Tested the water, added chlorine (been a little lax, it's gotten chilly out), scooped leaves, and brushed. I also deflated the pool rafts and put some things away. I'm thinking the only time we will be in now is to vacuum, it's not looking to warm anytime soon. We didn't really seem to get to...

Harvey is killing us in Houston Need Suggestions

I can't even wrap my head around that much rainfall! My prayers have been going out for all of you. If it were me, I'd try to get at least some chlorine in. As soon as you are able to run full tests (your CYA may have gone down) then you can see where you need to go from there.
