just bought a pentair quad 60 de also bought an intelliflo vs now concerned during prime the pump may blow filter apart should i be concerned

You can, if you want, limit the prime speed and duration of the prime cycle...
But, even if you do nothing, I doubt it will cause any harm.... I have two pools with older DE filters and IntelliFlo pumps... One filter is a 48sqft and one is a 60sqft.. They have been running for about 6 years and I have seen no issues with the filters or the pumps...
Other than at start up, the pumps run most of the time at about 1200 rpm...
