Wi-Fi pool thermometer?

So, just about everything can be controlled by wifi nowadays. i have been looking but have not really found anything. does anybody know if there is a wifi thermometer out there anywhere? i would like to be able to see my pool temp from inside the house, and possibly away from house. i know they make the wireless ones that work from inside to out, but i have not found one that has any decent reviews. most talk about them leaking.

I've had this for 4 season now, no leaks.
best thing about it is you change the batteries at the beginning of the season and it lasts all season. No muss no fuss. And you can read it from outside too.

lube the gasket when you change the batteries and you really shouldn't have any problem.

what type of range do you get with that one?

I've been using a wireless tag sensor for a couple years now and it's pretty good. It's a little more hardware intensive, but it's been reliable. I have the hub inside near my router and the sensor is about 150' away. Wireless Sensor Tag Outdoor Probe

i kinda like that idea. it looks like in the picture that it works with Google. is it pretty easy to hook up? i am looking at the outdoor probe basic and the ethernet tag manager. is that all i would need? what app does it use?

That's all you would need. Very easy to hook up. It uses their wireless tag app, which is feature-rich. (Alarms, etc) The downside is that the tag manager needs a wired Ethernet connection.

I use the wireless tags also. A bit geeky for some but works pretty well. Tag manager was faulty but customer support was good. Battery life could be better. I have several tags and a few Wemo devices integrated together. Monitor my pool plus automate my solar panels (plus monitor humidity and temperature in the RV turning on small heater and dehumidifier as needed).

I've been looking for an outdoor large display to put next to my outdoor clock with the pool temperature on it. Does anyone have any ideas about that?

Do you guys just throw the outdoor probe in the pool as it is (the $49 one with the $5 probe)?

i found this pic of someone else who uses this setup. it looks like the whole thing does not go in the pool, just the probe.

Ya that picture shows it. The plastic unit containing electronics doesn't go into the pool (it's not that water proof!), only the sensor wire goes in. Tape the plastic unit to whatever is convenient and drop the sensor wire into the pool.

That picture is exactly how I use mine. The wire is about 3' long so the probe is deep enough for an accurate measurement.

Noturbizniss- mine is 35" from where the wire exits the xmitter to the top of the probe.
