white particles in the hot tub

OK -- calcium only is created if your CSI gets above 0.6. So have your water chemistry test results indicated that prior to and during the white flakes showing up?

I didn't measure the calcium prior. I will do that next time

Reading about the CSI, I realize there is another factor here: temperature. I have been keeping higher temperatures than I used to. That combined with a high pH may have been the curlpit (the ozonator is just a coincidence)

Could be. High pH and TA with high temperatures can get you in scaling tendency pretty quick.

To dissolve the calcium you can just drop the CSI to -0.3 or little under and it will dissolve. Might take a bit of time.
