What's your current pool temp?

Was 83, brrr, turned the pool heater on and bumped it up to 86. A little chilly for us, but warmer than the 77 degree breezy day. Can I move back down south now?

Jodie Come on down to florida we have plenty of room. Woke up this morning and the pool temp was 89 degrees. Going to be a great day for swimming [emoji474]*??[emoji482][emoji474]*??

I'm thinking the ideal pool temp is strongly associated with the air temp and also how you use your pool. Here the max air temp is above 100 degrees f now and has been for the last ten days. The forecast shows nothing below 100 for now so a clean pool in the mid 80s is special. Great for swimming 24 hours a day.

And your temperature swings are much greater than other areas. I saw High 107, Low 67 from the other day. Geez! If it is 100 here, the low would be upper 70's/80, due to higher dew points. Dew points are so critical in how a pool behaves and the human comfort factor. Since it's not usually 100 degrees here, average summer high is probably 88, I love a high dew point. It keeps we warmer when above the water line. Non pool owners in MD will say - it's too humid - not me!

Water is still holding between 82 to 84 despite 30 days with air temps above 100. Last Sunday we had one day of 99 to break the streak and the forecast is for 105 by the end of the week. August should be a good test for my two 16' triangle sail shades.

Anyone else dealing with the smoke from wildfires?

No fires here in my neck of the woods. Hope y’all are safe and get through it all. I feel so bad for California:(

water has been settling at 85 with temps above 100-105. I do run the cover on it a few days a week to keep the CL use at bay, but overall it has been real nice. Sucks with all the fires blowing ash around, which has kept from swimming a few days this week. I hate when the news jumps on this bandwagon and announces the start of "fire season" on the news at night, because that wakes up all the wacko arsonists and miraculously we have spontaneous fires all over CA causing so much damage and harm to the public.

I'm jealous, typically mine is over 100 degrees at the hottest part of the day this time of the year in the Phoenix area. I don't have a deep end, since I have a lap/play pool with the deepest part of the pool at 5'. That doesn't help either. A good reason I don't use a cover. That would certainly raise the temp even more.
