Wow foray and pwrstrk, you are in PA with a temp that high? I am in Southern La, and my water hit 96 a month ago. Mine dropped to 83 last week. A few days ago I saw that Minneapolis had a high of 93 while down here we were in the low 80's. Weird weather we have been having.

Yeah, it's been above 90 for a few days straight up here, though that is by no means unusual for us this time of the summer. The humidity has also been high (I bet that is common for you too).ComputerGuyInNOLA said:

Yeah, when I got in it actually felt hot. I like my water warm, but this is just crazy. Supposed to be 95 tomorrow, so the pool might get even warmer. I wonder if it can hit 100?
My pool is around 92-94 and I know I am a minority but I like it. The kids and I swim at night and love it! Steam rolls off pool at night!
Currently it is 89. I did the conversion for my american posters. 32 Celsius for my peeps. I like the temp! night swims are brilliant after the kid goes to bed.
I've heated it periodically to keep it above 85 but mother nature heat wave and a solar cover have kept it around 31-32. or 88-90.

89 right now. During the heat wave we hit 92.9 which is the highest I've ever seen my pool at. Before this summer, the highest temp I know of in my pool was around 88 point something. This year we hit 92 at least for 4 days.
Pool is finally cooling off. Got down to 92 or 94. It'll be much better than when it was 97.
Mine is also 90 -98 most of the time was 94 yesterday which I think is perfect . Pool is in full sun all day and we leave solar cover on when not in use but we love swiming in warm water and also at night .
80....or about 26.5 and dropping I bet it is 77 tomorrow morning. The outside temperature has been more October weather than July for Ontario, Canada. I want my heat wave!

I'm new to owning a pool but my water temp has been around 85F and on hot days 90F plus it might get to 88F. I have indoor pool and I leave the tops open during the day during good weather (no rain) is that a normal temperature range? I would like the pool to be around 88F or 90F consistently if possible. I don't have a heater is there anything else I can do? Also is a gas heater worth the expense? We are also thinking about adding a hot tub soon too.
