After the cool front and rain we had over the weekend, we're down to lower 60's. End of the swim season for us, only the spa will be used for the next few months.
I know I posted just a few replies back but I just gotta gloat a little bit. I have my solar cover on and I forgot to turn off the solar heaters today. My pool is now at a sizzling 91 degrees. After I go for a swim tonight, I'll leave the cover off so it will cool down.
Sorry. I just had to say that I'm so happy I'll be swimming for another month or two.
Water temp got down to a low of 62° right after an unusually strong cold front moved in last weekend combined with some rain. However, that did not keep me out from doing my workout laps. After a couple days of November-like temps, the air temp quickly warmed up to early-October seasonal norms (80's) and now pool water is at 71°.
Pool cover and solar heaters on and my pool is still a very nice (almost too warm) 89 degrees and it feels wonderful.
It's going to be in the mid to high 90's here in the Phoenix area so I'm guessing I'll be swimming for at least another 3 or 4 weeks.
Not trying to make anyone feel sad but I'm just thrilled that I can use my pool for most of the year.
I moved from Oregon last year. In Oregon, there was one pool within 70 miles of me at one high school so I rarely got to swim.
Here in Arizona, everyone has a pool and swimming is a big part of life around here.
The little town I was from in Oregon averaged 119 inches of rain per year. No typo. 119 inches AVERAGE.
Needless to say, I'm thrilled to be living in a warm sunny area now.
Woke up this morning to a nice, warm pool (87 degrees) so after a morning swim, I'm ready to go for the day.
Pool temp is 71, I will climb in when it's mid 70's, but its chilly outside tonight too I noticed my pool temp creeps up when we use the spa. We can heat the whole pool, but it's nice side affect of the spa anyway
85 degrees at 7 PM tonight. Now that I've got it almost cleaned up, I'm really glad to live where it will be usable year-round. I'd hate to have gone to all this work just to shut down for the winter.
