Unrelated to your problem. I really like your pool design, with two shallow ends and lot of potential in-pool seating. Also like your coping, I think. What is that material? We have "natural" Texas sandstone, pieces of which started to deteriorate even before we switched to SWCG.
Good luck with the plaster. From what I'm seeing around here (greater Houston area), you're getting at least above average attention. My neighbor went nearly two months with a gunite pond surrounded by near-perpetual mud in the back yard. Luckily for us, prevailing winds here are normally out of the south, and my neighbor is on our north side. I wondered about their other neighbor who has a pool built the same time as ours in 2018--and they spend a lot of time outdoors--but I hesitated to ask them!
