Here's the part I'm not sure I'm getting right. If the Ph raise caused by chlorine is temporary and goes aways as the chlorine is used, that raise should be present as long as there is free chlorine, right? So if I let all the chlorine get used without adding any, the Ph should drop below the level where it was when there was still a lot of chlorine present, no?
Let's say I have gradually raised my free chlorine level up to 10, but at the same time measure a Ph of 7.2. If I drain most of my pool tomorrow and stop adding chlorine until May, the Ph should drop below 7.2 as all the chlorine gets used during winter, according to that (flawed?) logic, no?
And if I take snow and rain into account, I'll end up with pretty acidic water in the spring, won't I?
