I have one on each side of the length of my pool. They aren’t returns. I’ve just always been curious what the heck they are? Just little C shaped holes?

Anchor for a safety rope to separate the shallow area from the deep area.

Add a turkey baster and tooth brush to your next shopping list. SAY WHAT??? LOL You will need to use the toothbrush to brush those holes and the turkey baster for squirting liquid chlorine into them to make sure they are good and clean about once a week or so.
Excuse me ma’am!! I have to do something with them?! I ask one silly question…🤣

LOL Yeah but you have to keep the pool nice and clean for your little man!!! So yeah..........those are holes so they can hide yucky stuff so you keep asking NOT silly questions and we will help you keep the pool ready for him to swim in!!

Lets do some mom talk. Do you know about putting rubbing alcohol in his ears after swimming to help dry out his ear canals?

I just run my fingers in them with some chlorinated water when I am in the pool.

I do know this hack, though I have yet to use it!! He is 21 months old and the little prince isn’t too thrilled about getting above his neck wet. Working on that this season haha.

Does he know how to blow bubbles from a bubble wand? If so then you can use that skill to get him lower and lower into the water. That blowing skill will also help him learn to put his face starting with his lips in the water. It will be a process that will happen over time slowly.

He does blow bubbles so that’s a good idea!!

Unrelated, but since you’re here and from I gather, THE person to ask about all things construction. This slab of concrete has been cracked since we bought the place a year ago. No idea how long it’s been cracked. Important to fix or is this just a cosmetic thing? Also, I’d say this pool water is TFP clear!! So satisfying.

LOL I am one of the people to ask just about any question of, well except equipment as I can't seem wrap my brain that stuff.

Okay so lets look at this. I see the two small cracks by the skimmer. They are not very wide at all. Now lets look all around that slab the skimmer is in. I don't see any pulling away from the coping or the control joint on either side. It does not look like the crack going towards the pool/coping got all the way to the pool wall.

What that tells me is that slab is not really moving in any way and that is great news! When I first saw where the cracks were I worried the slab was trying to sink on the outer side of it. The coping and control joint being intact shows me that is NOT happening so........it is all good! No telling why those two happened but they are of not big concern so I would not mess with them. Any fix will stand out more than they already do.

Now if you start to see the slab settle or pull away from the coping THEN we will worry about it.
