I think it's important to focus all effort on only one item right now - and that is successfully completing the
SLAM Process. Discussing anything else is taking the focus off of what needs to be done first.
There seems to be some discrepancy with testing, adding the correct amount of chemicals or the potency of the chemicals you are adding - or possibly a combination of these.
In post #96, I asked for some info in the second paragraph.
"What was FC at your last test?
If you need to add, how much does PoolMath suggest?
If you add, test 30 minutes later and report the FC reading."
In post #97, you stated the last FC test showed FC 15. But didn't state how much PoolMath suggested to add to get back to SLAM level. You stated you only had one gallon of 12.5% chlorine left - but didn't add it then and didn't state how much the FC should rise with that one gallon addition. Finally, you didn't post an FC test result 30 minutes after you added that gallon of chlorine. Next time you add chlorine - let us know what the result was before adding, how much product you added and what the result is 30 minutes after adding (not 3 hours, not 1 hour - 30 minutes). Be sure the pump is running continuously.
My point is you need to help us to help you.
We need to figure out where the issue is with your additions and testing results showing a much higher reading than what would result from the quantity of chlorine you were supposed to add per PoolMath.
Being over 100 posts into the
SLAM Process in this thread can make you frustrated since you aren't progessing. More so since you are experiencing some odd test results after chlorine additions that are still continuing.
Let's tackle this and get it taken care of.
Any other issues you may be having with the pool can wait.
SLAM on!!!
