Finally got my VGreen motor in. This is horribly unacceptable. Not sure if this is Inyo’s fault or the manufacturer, as inyo opened the box to put the gasket kit in and it was clear as day when I opened the box.

This thing has either been used before or jacked up from the get-go. Guess who I will never buy from again?

I assume this is supposed to be some kinda packing material?
Definitely give them a call ☎️ & give them the chance to make it right.
Let us know comes of it.

My guess is that it was used and someone packed it wet, disintegrating the packing material. Bad thing is UPS had a “weather delay” (61 low and 80 high, yeah right) and it was 2 days late, and I’m going out of town for over a week so I needed this working this weekend.

Inyo’s customer service is only open Monday-Friday.

Maybe we can get @InyoRob to look into it before then.

I understand the frustration but please give them a chance. This *could* have been the manufacturer and UPS and inyo is taking the heat for both.

It looks to me as if the manufacturer's process for packaging the pumps may be an issue. I don't think this is on Inyo.

I agree with Mdragger, you should give them the opportunity to correct it. In my opinion, how a company handles issues determines how good they are, not just if they can get product out the door.

Lately, I've been seeing many durable goods items clearly damaged and not from shipping. We had two BBQ pits from a well known maker during Christmas, clearly packaged well, no tears in box, and no way to damage from outside otherwise. Both looked like they had been thrown the production shop. Dented all to heck. Then, one new dishwasher, denting inside door to where it would not seal. Next one, dented inside and outside. Very sorry, as I know the frustration with going out of town and having to leave with this needed repair hanging out there.

Rod,

I really doubt the unit was used as that is not how INYO works.

No doubt that whoever packed it did a very pool job. It looks to me like it was packed using a liquid foam that expands. The motor should have been wrapped in plastic to prevent the foam doing what it did. When done correctly this liquid foam works great.

The key to any problem is to put your emotions aside and try to get the situation straightened out. I suspect that INYO will be glad to correct the issue.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Oh, don’t take my impassioned rhetoric for emotional decision making.

My experience is that quality issues are often systemic.

Whoever is at fault here is who I won’t buy from again - Inyo or VGreen. Inyo has the opportunity to make it right, I agree. VGreen likely does not. But Inyo did have an opportunity to check it as they packed the gasket kit inside. It was clear to my wife and myself that something was wrong when we looked inside.

Yes, me as well. I order a lot of parts and tools for my job, and I was just telling my wife the other day that there have been major issues with what seems like a significant percentage of my orders lately. Even at home - we bought some glass bowls from a major retail store that splintered (not shattered) after hand washing them and sitting out on the counter. Checking with the reviews, many people had the same experience. The manufacturer called me and said that it was probably my fault 🙄

Pretty much everything from everywhere. Quality control took a nosedive once the supply issue hit.

That does seem like a potential explanation, thanks.

Like I said, emotions are going to come out. I just spent three days in a children’s hospital with my one-year-old after rushing her to the ER twice this week. And even then I’m simply looking to be better informed about the companies I give money to. What caused the issue, how they respond, etc. If it was VGreen, pretty simple to write them off at this point unless the motor is amazing in operation. If Inyo, we can chat about how this slipped through the cracks.

But the foam expansion seems more likely than “put away wet” considering the box doesn't look wet.

I called them over a dozen times trying to secure equipment in the middle of the shortages. Then pentiar backordered something and canceled another. Then I needed credit for the item because the system placed me into a waitlist for a replacement order. Anywho. I called then a BUNCH for things of several natures.

The only time I felt the need to mention TFP was at checkout to get the $25 discount. They took care of some random dude on the phone the same way they would a TFP member, which is good for them because I could be sharing horror stories right now.

But all I have is them doing right by me at every step.

When using that expanding foam the motor is supposed to be isolated from the foam by sheets of plastic material. The foam is added behind the plastic and then the foam expands so the plastic and foam conforms to the shape of the pump.

Two pieces of plastic are usually used so that you end up with two blocks of plastic covered foam that easily separate from the motor.

My Vgreen165 was packaged that way, but the two foam blocks on the ends were contained in a gray plastic wrap, which easily separated from the motor.

My guess is that whoever packed it forgot the plastic liner/separator before spraying the foam in box. This probably at the factory in Mexico when it was shipped to Inyo.

Yep, that looks like how mine was packed. Yours may have had some damage from rough shipping as it looks like the motor shifted and punched right through the plastic and foam on one end.

Maybe the box was dropped on than end of the box?

Maybe - it was suspicious of UPS to delay due to weather when it had been only a few miles away at their distribution center for a beautiful couple of days…
