What happened to my system? Breeze 540 (pics)

Noticed the service light was on so did some closer looking and the connection at the wall looks like... Well see the pic. I pulled the unit apart and the plates are clean, but the front part... Almost feels like broken glass. No idea if it originally looked like that (haven't opened it before).

Any clue what's going on? I'm guessing it wasn't generating any chlorine as it was close to 0 and I'm using bleach til I figure out what's wrong.

System is a Breeze 540. About 3 years old.

Corrosion is never good.
Let's see if any one else has some ideas.

For what it's worth, I called the manufacturer and they said it's failure of the cell. They are sending me a replacement. Lucked out as it is right at 3 years old.

Ill be curious if they find out what the issue was and if there was anything I could do to prevent it.
