What did you do to your pool today?

After watching a LOT of rain fall in the pool we switched over to watching a LOT of hail fall in the pool and knock a DOUBLE LOT of leaves in the pool.

Then I sent it on down the road to visit Divin Dave and Woody. :)

I got this bad boy in today. Century 1hp 1.65sf 2 speed motor to replace my 1.5hp 1.1sf single speed. Get this deal. Brand new in original box on eBay for $115. The next closest one on eBay is $280. Retail is ~$350. It was a pool miracle. Hopefully get it hooked up tomorrow.

Vacuumed out some pollen, not so heavy now on a daily basis. All the male pine cones have dropped (finally)

Nice score on the 2-speed motor!

I had a recent ebay pool miracle too.

Got an 8 mill blue solar cover for $ 67 (on their main website it's $ 99)
and they had free 2 day fedex shipping.

I paid twice that for the last one.

That's a steal!

Looking forward to opening on Saturday here. Water temps still likely in the 50s, but weather is finally turning to 60s and 70s... hopefully more regularly.

Also ordered a bottle of poly60 on Amazon for $22, and sweet talked the pool store lady into dropping her metal magic from $18.95 to $16. I told her about the deal on my pump and she was asking me where I got it. I showed her what I could order the metal magic for, she did some math, and said ok I'll do that. The new pump is 70% more efficient on low than my single speed was. It's crazy!

Fought with myself about whether to hook up the pump and start my SLAM. Not being able to get in the pool and brush/vacuum is holding me back, along with the worry we will get a hard freeze. I have some algae that developed on the fall, but the water is too cold, at 57 degrees, to get in and clean. I did drain out about 2" of water, and checked on the solar cover, as I only half put it away. (Rolled it up and put a tarp over it, outside, as somehow the shed filled up quickly last fall!) thankfully it looked fine.

I don't remember which one of you recommended the brigs and Stratton rotating brush that attaches to a powerwasher for cleaning the concrete surround but THANK YOU! That thing makes it FUN to powerwash and does an amazing job...cuts the work time in half (likely more)!

Opened the pool to a cold 47, clear as a bell, 5.5 FC left, and getting ready to switch to swg the week after next.
