Am I thinking of someone else, or has this been going an inordinate amount of time? Seems like a reaaaally long time.

It sure feels like a long time. We are at 8 wks since layout and dig. Took 4 wks from rebar to gunite. Since then, they have done maybe 1 thing per week. I was told they would backfill the trenches today but no one showed.

I have squirrels, my biggest concern is if they fell in and tried to climb out (which would be impossible the way my coping and ladder are)
that they might slice the liner with razor sharp claws they have.

hopefully that will never happen.

I feel better about my mouse now! Poor little squirrel, RIP.

Water temperature here was 50 today.

I felt terrible.. then I ran to get my chlorine and bring it to slam. Yuuck. Water is 50 here too.

Ugh! I thought of all that too..I'm very puzzled how this even happened.. I don't have my steps in the pool right now..

We have something called a "frog log" that we place beside the primary skimmer to help critters out, but it doesn't seem to work. That I know of. The mouse in the video I posted kept swimming to the middle of the pool before the frog log. Made me sad.

Nothing today, other than watching the rings form around the splash of the rain drops, BUT...signed a contract for installation of solar pool heating earlier in the week. 10 Fafco panels, booster pump and actuator valve. Install is in 4 to 6 weeks which is a little late to get the early jump on the season, but mote consistant water temps and an extended season are coming soon. It turns our that the company we went with curtails installs for the first two weeks of April to assist the service crew in doing annual start-ups.

I went to Florida on vacation last week with the hopes I would be bringing back some used pool solar panels. Unfortunately the ones I was looking at were sold the day before I left. :( So, solar heat will have to wait. Yesterday I was toying with the idea of getting a 2 speed pump to cut down on electricity usage. The best price I had found last year was advanced manufacturing for $209 for a 1.5hp square flange motor. I got looking on eBay and found a guy with two brand new Century motors. One was listed for $129.99, and the other was $129 with a make offer option. I offered $115, and it should be shipping out today. :) The next closest price to that was $280. So, needless to say, I'm pretty excited!
