Both my neighbor and ourselves did a major re-roof after closing last fall. The dirt/gunk on the cover is incredible! Never been like this before. Every scrubbing muscle is aching, but feeling good; Blackhawks win!
I've taken the cover off to get things melting but I have to complete plumbing repairs before opening for good. I had to cut off and plug the main drain line due to the valve not holding air lock on the main drain line. So... to fire up the pump and get things clean, I'm replumbing all of the suction side valves leading to the pump. All the ice is now gone so I'm on the rush to get parts and get it done so I can get things cleaned up before algae has a chance. Water is still in the 40s so not much chance of it going green but I'd rather stay ahead of the game.
Trying to plan out my plumbing solution replacing 3 2-way valves with 2 3-way valves while still being able to direct water the way I want and close during the winter. Trying to figure out how to used the side of the Ts, rather than the center to be the "inlet" because I have limited width to keep the plumbing going where it needs to. I'll probably post a thread with pics and get some feed back before committing. Probably will be a bit of dry fit testing and maneuvering.
I weeded and vacuumed up leaves, cut up a tree that blew over from the storm, looked at the green cover, and brought my new test kit in off the porch
How is the Glacier thaw going JV?![]()
Whaja waitin for? Take it off!![]()
[emoji33] maybe? That's the face I make during first swim of the year.
That "face" looks like us too when we jump in.
Water temp, 50  Will be hooking up the pump this weekend and circulating till the buds have fallen off the tree. Usually that's when we have an ice storm in April. Or a big rain storm and everything comes down. LOL Then the cover will come off. Looking forward to using our new water fountain feature to watch untill we can go swimming.![]()
