What did you do to your pool today?

Just finished checking pool chemistry and now we are getting monsoon rains[emoji30]I did not even get time to take a quick dip[emoji17]

Checked pH and FC/CC this morning. Logged results in PoolMath App (I LOVE THAT APP!!). 106F today...late afternoon cool off swim scheduled.

I wish we could get some of that heat. It's been in the low fifties in the evenings and cloudy most of the week. Seems like it's already fall !!
Adding water and doing some testing.

Replaced my SWG flow switch sensor. It was as easy as changing a light bulb and plugging in a telephone line. I added some zip ties and tightened up the slack in hopes my lawn guy will not ruin this one. First time running my SWG since my remodel :)

Vacuumed pool yesterday, but it's been a busy couple of weeks with the pool. Had an issue with the pool losing water level and discovered a crack in the body of the 5-way valve on top of the filter (not sure how this happened). So ordered a new valve and decided to run pump only 1/2 hour per day just to circulate the bleach while waiting for the new valve to arrive (normally I run the pump continuously since I don't have any automation). Last week, installed new valve and upon restarting pump heard a loud whining sound from the pump motor bearings (motor is at least 17 years old). Finally was able to replace the motor yesterday. Meanwhile, the pool had accumulated a lot of dirt and debris from recent rains so thus the need to vacuum before starting the Kreepy Krawly. Water though, remained crystal clear throughout this time.

Today we got home from an 8 day out of state vacation. It was the first time away for more than a day. I left the pump on running on LS 24/7 and the Stenner pump doing its job on a timer. The water still looked clear. I did a FC / pH test and the numbers were right where I expected them to be. Nothing special to do, just go for a swim to enjoy the great pool and TFP water!!

The monsoon season has given us some nice rainstorms. While all the ATV guys head up Reddington Pass to go see the Tanque Verde falls, I'll stay home and float in front of my own personal waterfall -

The rains have helped a lot of the greenery around the waterfall come in.

Last night's sky from poolside -

There are PBs around here that install pools without auto fill pots....in the desert, with the evaporation rates we have, that is criminal (and stupid). I would think in rainier climates like yours, an overflow wall port and valve would be standard issue.

Well, at least you always get nice fresh rain water to fill your pool. I know it's a pain to constantly have to add chemicals to keep it all balanced, but that's a better option than here where everything just concentrates over time like a pot tea...

At least I am having a blast doing cannon balls and creating large waves with my round floats emptying the pool out[emoji2]
