What did you do to your pool today?

Checked chemical levels, logged data in PoolMath App, added MA to knock TA down a bit. Used the leaf rake to pickup some leaves blown into the pool. Lots of rain but no changes in levels. Pool remains crystal clear.

All the years of pool ownership I have always had to fight high ch levels. The last 2 months my ch levels went from 350 to 180 this morning. It has been due to the abundant rainfall. My pws has logged almost 40 inches of rain in the last 2 months. Needless to say I have added ca hardner and I don't ever recall doing so [emoji15]

We'd be lucky to get 40" of rain in 4 years....I can bottle up some of my low phosphate, high calcium (CH ~ 1200ppm) pool water and sell it to you :deal:

I promise it's TFP sparkling clean....

Finally put the silaflex between the deck an coping. Only took 2 months after purchase. Day 11 of 100+ in a row. An hour after a finished it started pouring...which was needed in a big way.
Congratulations and good for you!
Brought FC to slam level, dropped in a floater, covered and said see you in a week. Made it downstate in one piece physically. Mentally still recovering...Pool should be fine, pool owner? 13 hours in a car may need more than that for recovery.
Ah the TFP life is sweet! Too bad there isn't a Trouble Free Road Trip procedure...

As for me...Mary is working hard to install my whole pool zero/negative/infinity edge by the end of the day, but it looks like she might have to work into the night before completing it. Fine by me, I'll be sound asleep. I wish her well. She's doing a lot of pools this week. It's all the rage down here right now. All the cool kids are doing it.

I just boosted FC towards new shock level and tried the Clorox CYA for the first time (heavy use splashout/rain-overflow due to skipping draining down because I wanted bigger waves/deeper pool fun) Dissolves almost as good, if not as good, as HTH - but the tub is no where near as cute... They had all the HTH in stock except the CYA, so clorox got the sale. $14.86 for 4lbs, maybe just a tad cheaper than HTH was if memory serves, but I'd totally pay the difference for that cute jug and perhaps a little faster dissipating/dissolving cloud during massaging. Lots of variables, but bottom line is as long as the CYA tests as expected tomorrow, I can also endorse the clorox as well as hth 100% cya from walmart. This one was dated 16 176 and incredibly dusty, so good thing this stuff has a shelf life of don't worry about it.

Grabbed a 12 pack of bleach from the store and dumped 2 in. We were out of town a bit this weekend and fell behind a little.

Added almost 2" of water. 100+ degree days are as hard on the level as are the dogs with all of their getting out every other minute sopping wet.

Cleaned out the skimmers and vacuum bag. No mammals or lizards but there were a couple of scorps' of course, drowned I hope.

We'll gladly take your surplus rain if anyone cares to send some this way.

Diamond day for my newly plastered pool. Looking forward to using my swg tomorrow. Got tired of pucks and dumping jugs during the startup period. Enjoyed a good dip this afternoon, so good that I forgot about my hair appointment this evening. Hopefully she will forgive me.

Ran out of dog food last night and headed to FleetFarm first thing this morning to get another bag of her food. Couple behind me had two bottles of algacide so I struck up a conversation about pools and invited them to the site. Also mentioned that using the algacide wasn't really necessary

Took a dip after doing a lot of yard work. Ahhhhh :swim:

Went swimming in the pool for the 1st time this summer.
AWESOME! Congrats!

That was really nice of you! Algae without TFP can be especially frustrating and prolonged!

What's that? Congrats!!! Did you have a construction thread? Any pictures to share?

Discovered what I thought was algae was really missing grout
I'm glad it wasn't algae. Are you doing the repair work, having spouse do it, or hiring?

Oh I wish it was so easy! Mary failed to overtake the entire coping, so no extra this time round.

Just a suggestion. It might be useful to have a weekly version of this thread. Maybe one of the wonderful mods here could post one, although I feel a sense of shame suggesting work for another person. It is atrocious to navigate on mobile. Lete know if there is a better way to navigate.

Many of us use the app Tapatalk when on our mobile phones.

it's 127 pages - WOW. I really don't like Taptalk too much. Good for pics but someone directly asked me something and I couldn't figure out how to do a reply with quote!

not sure if we need to? I mean, what's gonna happen? I am so irritated with our pool builder AND he told us he was done helping us or servicing us... so....
