We have had our above ground Intex pool with oversized SWG for a little over two years. This year we're having trouble getting the chemicals right so in our gazillion searches we found this beautiful website! Very interesting how the SWG for a vinyl pool should be so much different than other kinds of above ground pools or any in ground pools. Anyway, I am reading, and reading, and reading - and I keep finding mention & even discussion regarding the setting for your SWG. The percentage for your salt cell I guess. My Intex SWG has no option for a percentage setting that I have ever seen. Also, the Pool Math app is asking my percentage. I have no idea. I'm assuming 100%? Am I just missing it? Please help!!!

I will tell you that the salt cells were corroded when we opened 'er back up this spring. It tricked us into thinking we needed more salt. So after a silly amount of salt added, followed by an 80% water replacement, we decided to check on that. They looked bad but we were able to clean it off & fortunately we're up and running again!

Welcome to TFP!

Since your SWG only generates at 100%, you can only adjust runtime. In Pool Math, Effects of Adding tab, just use 100% for percentage. Set your SWG to generate 4 ppm of FC daily. Most pools will consume 2-4 ppm daily. You can make adjustments from there to match SWG output to daily FC loss. This what it looks like for my pool...

Intex Krystal Clear? Is it is this model:

If not post the model#

If it is, it makes .37 lb/day. Choose "not listed", or the first choice in the SWG model in Pool Math and then enter .37 for your SWG Chlorine Output.

The rest, @Rancho Cost-a-Lotta covered.
