We bought another pool! Finally!!!!

Glad it’s all set up! I hear you on the electrical inspection stuff. Ha! My reinspection is set for Friday and then if it passes I can backfill and cover up all the bonding. Then they have to come back again.

I also had a similar issue with the location of things for the new pool. Had to move my outlet and add some planks to the deck to fill a bigger gap.

I started in July and im in the same spot as you right now.

I suspect but don't know for sure that the equipment is too close to the side property line. It was stated 10 feet in the codes but it is about 8 feet. It's all on the electrician and pool store at this point. The electrician was OK moving the electric back to meet the 6 feet away from the pool code. I don't know if the pool store guys even thought about the setback for equipment. The cord is about 30 inches so if not they can come back and repipe the filter! Meanwhile next door is using an Intex pool (no problem with that!) and I think an extension cord for the filter. Unfortunately for him it's also GREEN!

Now to figure out what to protect the dogs from those mean pipes!

If u have chewers it’s all fair game. Definitely fence off the equipment all the way to the skimmer & returns. Thankfully mine doesn’t mess with that kinda stuff. She just gets a drink from the skimmer splashout on occasion.

No chewers but they do run around the yard and are inquisitive. We don't want them to get into something that can cause issues for them or us. I'm thinking about the lattice that kimkats said, it may be the best solution.

If your dogs are anything like mine just bushes will not work as they can/WILL go through them. Some kind of solid fence would be necessary. Most people like the look of lattice so that was my first thought to keep wife happy.

I'd get a couple cinderblocks under there while you decide how to make it pretty. (I vote bury it. You can reuse most of it with a couple new fittings.)

My wife was thinking of hiding the "eye sore" as our last setup was more compact and didn't have long white pipes. I need to get there since it's where the plumbing is so anything there will need to be easily removable.

My dog goes into the bushes, under the deck and even under the hot tub deck so I agree whole heartedly they will fund the way in!

My son does plumbing so once this passes all the inspections I'll see what to do. The final inspections are 2 weeks away. I'm not too keen on burying the piping but I guess that can be an option.

I'm seeing it be in the way for the Lawnmower, wheelbarrow and both spring and fall leaf clean up. The first 25 times you need to go the long way, it won't bother you. But it's gonna get old.

It doesn't need to be buried deep if you remove it to empty it each winter. Just enough that it absorbs the weight of anything crossing it. Or bury it below the frost line and blow it out like inground plumbing come winter.

Also when it’s buried or sitting on the ground it doesn’t look like steps - when i do the big girl swg upgrade I will likely bury pvc in place of the hoses I have now. I put my deck so It hides the eyesore from the pool & “living” area of the backyard for the most part. I also hide all my stuff under the deck & it shades my equipment a little.

What you're both saying makes sense so I give it some better thought! I want this to pass/fail with the current setup and go from there. If it fails, then things will need to be moved until it passes. Once I get a passed final inspections I'll have my son work on getting it done correctly.

My original setup was similar but closer to the pool and hoses vs pipe. In the area around the piping and filter were all rocks, so no lawnmower. Weeds yes but nothing that chemicals couldn't take care of! My plan is to do something similar so not to have any issues with the lawn.

I too am a frequent user of liquid lawnmower just don’t spray it on the pool wall!

The inaugural dip was today! We put together the ladder and just had to go in. Water temp is 78 F, there was no sun to bask in as the trees were shielding us from it and there was a slight breeze. BRRRRR! I tasted the water and there was a slight salt taste (or my imagination was playing with me ). We stayed in about 20 minutes, toasted our new pool, tested our new floats and then covered it again. Although a little cold it was great to have a pool again!

I love fall swims with water in the mid to low 60`s. We close end of October first of November, The lower 60`s temp makes my skin feel young lol! Pic from last year had to prove to some guys in maintenance at work I swim in 60 degree water.

WOW! I went in and it was cold, my wife barely went in. Forget 60's!!! She was upset because we had solar the cover on for 2 days and the temp was only 78. I explained to her that the air temp went to below 60 overnight so we are lucky to get 78! Maybe tomorrow, it'll nudge to 80 ...

Thanks! We plan on hitting it again today in early afternoon while sun is beating down. I checked the temp this morning and it was down to 74 but it was a little chilly last night and the sun is out and maybe it'll get back up to 78. We have some yard work that needs to get done (cutting the grass and plugging up the bonding trench) so being hot and going in should be refreshing! My wife likes 82+ for water temp, I do too but I NEEDED to get in that pool!

We passed the final inspection Thursday so we're all legal! The inspector made sure our gate on the steps was able to latch itself which luckily it did as it's plastic and was giving me issues the night before.

But today was the end of our pool season for 2022. I did finally get to backwash the filter though and was amazed the color of the water that came out; I remember grey water with my DE filter but the gunk was mixed with the DE. My son is going to put unions onto the pipes tomorrow so I can remove them for winter. Hopefully Spring will be here soon!!
