any idea where i can get a waterslide valve? It looks like it is a reducer from a 1" pvc pipe to what appears to be basically refrigerator water line. I can't find them anywhere

So you couldn't find anything like that at the big box hardware stores huh? Well, in that case, you might try one of the popular on-line pool supply outlets like InyoPools.com, Poolpartsonline, or Poolsupplyworld.com. There are many of them. Of course there's always amazon. 
They might have a supply of those things since they are specific to pool applications. Hope that works. Nice to have you on the forum.
