There is no way the undiluted is higher than 100 and diluted is 30. That's too big of a testing error.

Try again, both tests. Stand outdoors, sun at your back. Hold the tube and your waist and GLANCE at the dot. In the glance, you might see some black at the right point, but you can't make out a dot. Glance, no staring!

You can pour it back and fourth from the mixing to the test tube and try the test multiple times. The sample will be good at least 5 minutes.

Take a picture of the tube from the top, outdoors in the shade of your body. Diluted and undiluted, line before it disappears and at line where it disappears. 4 pictures.

Can I still use the chlorine pucks and shockwave I purchased?

Shockwave is 68% calcium chloride. It is also a very powerful oxidizer and will turn water with iron green. It is still good for adding chlorine, especially if there is an algae bloom (which there shouldn't be if following the chemical recommendations here). It will also kill algae that may be sitting on a step/seat/bottom as it dissolves relatively slowly and will actually get to the surface. Great for black algae (which isn't really an algae).

There is a testing error. If the straight test shows high CYA, I would use that. More chance of error when doing the diluted test.

It's over 100...gotta target a drain.

If that's true, then we are going to need to replace 2/3 of the water. @Virago1100 I would replace 2/3 of your water it will probably work.

Thanks. Could I vacuum to waste to remove the water?

The pool is still green and making the orange blob of goo in the skimmer.

Do you have a skimmer...then no.

Hope this will help someone with a similar pool setup. I used the vacuum hose and the vacuum to drain the pool with the pool pump. As you can see in the pictures it is maintaining pressure and flow. With the pool pump it will take 82 minutes to drain 2/3. I put the garden hoses in just in case the end was leaky, so it would not go dry, but it is not leaking.

Pool is back up and running. Here are the test results.

53 oz Baking soda
31 oz Liquid Chlorine - I have the liquid chlorine.

You vinyl pool does not need a lot of calcium.

What is a Heat Siphon heater?

Don't kick your pH and TA with Borax and Baking Soda. Just check it every few days. If it is stable or goes up you are good.

Add 15 ounces of dry stabilizer to get your CYA 30-40 using the sock method

Add about 40 oz of liquid chlorine.
