I just noticed a leak from a small hole on the side of the blower stack (?) -- see below. Is there a plug that is missing or is this some sort of relief port? Thank you so much.

I spoke with a trusted guy who has done some repair work for me in the past. He concurs with your comment. I told him that I had the spa re-plastered 2 days ago with new spinning jets installed. Only 1 of the 6 jets would actually spin (I suspect that the ports on the back of the other jets were not closed). The guy that I spoke with said that could be the problem. In the meantime, I cycled the pump off & back on. No more leak. Maybe an "air pocket" forced the water to leak?

When the blower is running, it forces a lot of air into the jets. When turned off the air line is suddenly filled with a rush of water running back up that pipe and can get into the blower. It doesn't just slowly re-fill the line with water. That's why those blowers all come with or recommend some sort of check valve right after them, to stop that rush from getting into the body. That lower housing is where the electric motor is located.

How long have you lived there? As I said, I miss the small town that it used to be. We lived on Palm Ln in the central city when I was a baby, then out toward the Applegate as a toddler before the Corona Ave address. I learned to read in first grade at Wilson School and moved to AZ when I was in 4th grade. My Mom's side of the family is still there in Medford and Phoenix. They used to have acreage in Ashland. Boy, so many memories from those years now that I blab on about it. My Dad's parents lived there as well and I remember lots of the campgrounds and rivers we used to fish. My uncle loves to repeat the stories to me.
