Hi - NPO, sorry for the questions (I'm learning, thanks to you all). I've been running my pool since August (when it was finished) at max speed (I think it's 3450) for 12 hours a day, then went down to 8 hours a day and just today went down to 6 hours per day. I know that's too high a speed, but since I am intimidated, I am taking it one step at a time. I've just gotten all my pool chemicals in the "ideal range", which I'm happy about. The pool company set the freeze protection to at 2400 speed, I think. I don't know how to check. Even at that, the spillover is not full. So, my questions:
1. What speed is sufficient to run every day?
2. What speed is sufficient for single digit weather (we are to have some in a week)? Do I need it on full speed?
3. If I can lower the speed, how do I get a full spillover (especially when we have people over)?
4. How do I change the speed? I went into change it, and I can figure out everything until it gets to 1/8 and the 1 is flashing. I don't know what to do from there. I don't even know what 1/8 means.
Also, in single digit weather (or even the teens), if it does not look like we will lose power (a storm), can I just leave the pool running, or is this when I need to drain and close everything down until weather gets back above freezing?
Thanks, LaDonna
