I have bought b adapters to hopefully keep from having to drain and cut my pool. Just not sure if this will damage my pump and skimmer. Thank you

How about just a shred of context ?
I'm assuming you want to add a skimmer to a soft sided pool, but please list anything relevant such as the pool type and equipment models.
Pics of how it all is now, and what you'd like to install are always super helpful also.
