I agree with the "give it a good twist". This same thing happens to my Polaris from time to time. It is best to try fixing it with it running so you can see when the gushing subsides. It seems mine always has a slight trickle of water coming from that area, which, according to Polaris, is not abnormal. I can always tell when the trickle becomes more of a gush because my cleaner movement will become sluggish from the lack of water pressure through the hose. Good luck!
