To bypass the controller and operate the pump from its user interface, you don't need to change the wiring. After removing power from the pump, remove the two screws that hold the user interface in place, lift the user interface off and unplug its connector. Then remove the three screws from the user interface mounting plate to expose the wiring compartment. There is a bank of 5 DIP switches, flip switches 1 and 2 to the ON position. After you put things back together and apply power, the user interface will boot up and you can control the pump locally.
