If you choose not to run the pump, just bring it to shock level, let it run about 15 minutes to mix in and then turn off the pump. You will probably have a lot of leaves to clean out when you get back if you leave it uncovered.
When you get home check the FC, bump it back up if it dropped below the recommended level, brush and vacuum the pool and you should be good.
