Started SLAM about 27 hours ago. So far so good with monitoring except over night. Tested mostly every 2 hours today with a 4 hour wait at one point. Idk if you need numbers for the question coming but I’ll go ahead and post
FC-12
Ph-7.5 this am (checked this am with FC of 5.5, added borax yesterday)
Added 20ppm of CYA via sock method infront of return as suggested by another user with the assumption it would raise it to 30ppm.
So the question, I have to work a 16 hour shift tomorrow. 7a-11pm. Plan is to wake up early am and brush pool. Test FC add LC as needed. Now I know I can’t afford to wait 16 hours between testing/adding LC especially this early in the game, my mother has stated she can come over around 11 and again around 3:30 to add chlorine. I lose the most amount of chlorine between 12-4 when pool is in direct sunlight. This am I lost about 2ppm between 8-11 but about 6 between 11-3 and back to around 3 after. Can I kind of work off those numbers to let her know how much LC to add? Is it terrible to overshoot and just count it as a “loss” (I think I read somewhere you lose it quicker by adding more) I mean if nothing else it should keep algae from growing for the day maybe not just kill what I already have. Thoughts? Thanks for your time!
