My skimmer was about 50% level before the heavy rains. Now water is over the top of skimmer. Just drained down to 50% mark.

Tested CYA/calcium/salt last week (test monthly). Have 3 more days of rain and high temp will only be in mid 60s (down to 40s at night). Should I retest again after rains subsided and any further drain? Pump runs 24 hours (6 hours high, 18 hours min flow for SWG).

Obviously test other chemistry (FC and pH every few days; and TA weekly).

If your pump is running and you get a sample from a foot or more down in the water I doubt the rain will affect the test results.

When the sun comes out after you have been draining the pool you should check CYA, SALT, and CH. You will lose those with the draining.

Thank you.

Red light came on SWG and I know it self checks every 12 hours. Reading from unit is 2960 which is below the 3000 trigger (3200 was most recent kit reading). But then it could have sampled during the rain. So definitely need to check salt when weather breaks.

The SWG could have got a slug of rain water during its check. Especially if your water level was above the skimmer.
