I was all set to order the K2006C however I went down the rabbit hole and seems most here that responded agree its a good kit but prefer the

No, you don't need Borate test strip unless you've added Borates.
Skip the test strips if you;re buying the TF-ProSalt (my preferred kit) The TF-Pro is for those using Liquid Chlorine, not salt systems.
Skip the XL unless you have currently an algae outbreak?
The standard sampler is a nifty tool that pre-measures the pool water for testing. Handy but totally not required. If you've got bad eyes I'd get it.
Use the pH test that comes with the Test kit.... The meter is handy for color blind folks.
You will LOVE the Smart Stir device, I promise.
