Good morning all!

My TA all summer has not has not gone up from 60ppm. Once or twice was 50ppm. Is this a problem. All my other chemicals are right, but even with PH is as high as 8ppm, the TA remains at 60ppm. Is this a sign of something wrong? Last my reading today were as follows:

FC 7ppm
CC 0.5ppm
PH 8ppm
TA 60ppm
CYA 60ppm
CH 425 ppm
Salinity 3000ppm

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TA of 50 or above is fine if PH is stable.

Hello all!

I added baking soda about one month ago, but did not see any increase on TA. My PH does increase, I allow it to increase as high as 7.9, but still the TA will not increase. I have not test it the TA of the fill water, but I have not fill my pool in about a month or two as we have been getting lots of rain lately. Target for PH is 7.4 and TA 70.

Rain water TA is essentially zero.

Be sure to use PoolMath for baking soda additions so you know what to expect. Unless you have high CH you can target a pH higher than 7.4. Try 7.8..
