Hi - I'm trying to age my Hayward T-cell.
SN 3E1-3351
in the meantime, I'll go stand in the corner with the dunce cap on for adding too much salt to my pool because I didn't have a K-1766 kit.

Back again with continuation - Taylor salt test confirms high salt at 4800 (heading to the dunce corner again).
SwimPure + panel shows -2000 for instant salt read. I suspect the T-Cell to be on its way out due to age. However.........
Turn the pump on and everything starts up fine, and the cell seems to be generating (volts read 25-26 and amps settle about 4.5). This lasts for about 2 hours, but i'm not POSITIVE exactly how long it generates. I am certain that when I get home from work, the volts still read 25-6, but zero amps. Turn the SwimPure switch to off and then back on, and it will generate. Question is......does this sound like something is up with the BOX also???? The box is about 12 years old.
Yes the flow switch is operating.
The T-Cell is ONLY powered when the pump is running.

I am hesitant to drop the salt to nominal level, as that might cause the T-Cell to stop generating altogether since it's already reading low. I just finished cleaning up a green pool and don't want to have to do it again. I also don't want to have to put chlorine tabs in. Yuck.

One of the polarities of your cell is failing. Your cell is on its last legs.

Replace the cell and lower your salinity to the low 3,000's. High salt will cause high amps which will cause heat which will cause the board to burn out components.

Chlorinate your pool using liquid chlorine until you get your SWG working.

Follow up to advise that I corrected salt level to 3200 per Taylor K-1766 test kit.
Installed new T-15 cell and all appears normal. Amps stick to 6.42 and don’t float around; instant salt reads 3200. Going to enjoy the pool for awhile. What a wonderful feeling!
pH - 7.4
Calcium 250 (wish it was lower, but not worried about it)
CYA - 30 (yay)
Total alkalinity 160 - I’ll fix that later with a dose of acid, maybe two.
That’s all I’m going to worry about for now!

Thanks to ajw22 for the help.
