I have Pentair automation easy touch. Starting with the IC40 at minimum. 16,500 gal in ground plaster.

I have few questions of course and any other insights you can offer.

1. My initial thought is removing the inline chlorinator which i don't use anyway. That is only 20 inches from behind the check valve to the other end. Is that enough room? The Automated valve behind that is the spa fyi.

2. The other option is the heater return and that has a little over 21 inches and it's only 11 inches from the heater sidewall.

3. I don't have the transformer in my easy touch so I will need the external transformer. Are there any other items, other than pvc, cell, and transformer needed.

Thanks for the start of my journey to SWG.

You need 17 inches to cut in the IntelliChlor cell. Put it in the heater return leg so it chlorinates your pool or spa.

You need PVC, cell, Power Center, wire for between Power Center and EasyTouch RS-485 comm port, and wire Power Center to filter/pump relay LOAD side.

While leaving the inline is an option for some people, most find themselves removing it just to have more room for the SWG. Page 10 of the manual listed below should confirm most of your questions.

When it says 3 feet from heater outlet, it's talking pipe run correct? I'm about 30 inches of pipe run

Do you think I need a loop if I put in the heater return leg?

The manual says vertical for best flow sensing?

Thanks

Good to hear. I didn't want to add extra elbows and tees to it if not needed. I can always do it later if i have for sensing issues.

Reading your link, it mentions a separate temp sensor for the easy touch to control the IC? True? My system already has a temp sensor on the pump inlet side. The IC has
it's own temp sensor as well.

Thanks

Read it again. The IntelliConnect automation system needs an optional temperature system, not your EasyTouch.
