Moving cell to horizontal versus vertical as vertical it's bottom connection is below ground level. How do I cut and reuse the bottom union portion. Doesn't look like something stores just carry (or maybe they do). Do I cut a length before the cell connection and then just use a union on the old pipe?

Mark beat me while I was drawing. :ROFLMAO:

Use a coupler like the upper red circle at the bottom red circle. Dig down some to leave enough on the union to be able to reuse it at the blue circle.

Next question. Can i add a flow meter in on that new bottom section or is there not enough pipe there?

You could loop it to create a new spot.

I have to ask though, most people never need a flow meter. Why do you ?

By all means, get your geek/toys on. I can entirely relate with that. I was just making sure you didn't think one was a requirement. (y)

Looks great! If you have a variable pump and will run low speeds, I suggest you rotate the cell so the hump faces downwards. Otherwise you may have an air pocket on the top, reducing cell efficiency as a portion of the grids will not be in water.

I love this forum. Thanks.

We’ll all the glued joints are good. Both ends of cell unions leak like crazy. I have reconnected multiple times. Same result. Both ends leak all around the back of the nut. Like ww2 submarine movie leaks 😀

Edit. Now that the system is full it’s leaking statically out the back of the filter side nutt.
