Surfboard beach towel rack

As I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now, I came across a great idea from Kimkats concerning a place to hang our beach towels, shirts, etc. I searched in nearby Raleigh, NC and found a guy who reconditions surfboards so I went to visit him last week and bought a colorful (and relatively cheap) non-working surf board from him. Drilled a few holes in the thing, bought some dock cleats from Amazon and BOOM. Instant Hawaii themed towel hanger.

What do y'all think of the board?? Surf's up, dude!!

Thanks everybody. I showed it to my wife and she loves it. Just trying to figure out the perfect spot to hang it once we get the new deck addition built on in the next few weeks. I'll try to have it facing the late afternoon sun as much as I can so the wet towels will have the most sun exposure time.

I found a guy near downtown Raleigh who reconditions old surf boards. He sold me an old, beat-up, used one for less than $100.

Go for it. I basically stole the idea myself so turnabout is fair play, I guess. LOL

You're probably right. I should have said, "Extremely well used, dented and most definitely NOT new looking" surfboard.
