Suction side leak?

My bet is it leaks under pressure. It is very common for tubs to leak when cold and stop once warmed up, o-rings and gaskets shrink in the cold and swell in heat. The opposite is unlikely. There are many things that could cause the leak, what matters is finding it. Take some sides off. When you find the water, you'll know what caused it. Knowing beforehand is not going to save you from pulling sides.

Do you see the water in the tub drop at all? If so, could you put a mark at the waterline and watch that in addition to watching for leaks? It may respond faster, but it depends how big your leak is if that will work.

Thanks, I've just gone and re-marked it. The water is definitely spreading *from* the hot tub so I think that kills the idea that the water is coming from outside.

Where is your pump at? I went back and you had one picture with the heater and control board. Was the pump behind that?

I curious what you find out in the end here, as I also have a leak on my tub but it's outside and until recent it was cold so I just left it and top it up once a week or so. I have one obvious pressure leak on one of my pump's drain fittings. That will be relatively easy to fix but I suspect it's not leaking enough to be the only issue. One of these days I'll take off my other side panels and look for anything obvious.

Yes, the pump is behind, wet end on right.
Fix what you know is leaking before you go looking for trouble. You might be surprised how much a pump plug can leak. And remember, 95% of all leaks are in the equipment bay.
