I live on Long Island. Won't be able to close my pool for another 2 weeks or so. Have to keep the pool up and running. Today, I went out to test the chemistry, etc. I opened my Hayward chlorinator to check the amount of 3" tabs left in it and saw that there was this grayish white crud all over the inside walls. Came off very easily but I never saw this before. Since I am going to be disconnecting the chlorinator and cleaning it in 2 weeks I didn't want to dislodge the crud and have it fall to the bottom so I just left it. So I took out 4 tabs and put it in the chlorinator and they some went below the water line and they started to bubble. I never saw this before either. All the pool chemistry was good. Any ideas what this crud is and why the tabs started to bubble? Pictures attached. Thanks, Dave
