Mustard Algae (MA), when present, is a different challenge. That is why we typically do a regular SLAM first, pass all 3 criteria, then increase to MA levels for only 24 hrs to help eradicate any residual MA spores. In your case, IF it is MA, you essentially passed SLAM criteria with no FC loss, 0.5 CC or less, and if your water is crystal clear. So to do a final sanitation for MA spores, you can increase the FC to MA level for the next 24 hrs to see if that has any impact on the stuff you keep finding in the pool. Certainly up to you.

I lived in Central NJ growing up. By any chance is it ragweed pollen or similar? Any on your deck
or outdoor furniture etc.?

I was thinking pollen as well because I have the woods right behind me. But nothing on my patio furniture like it is in the spring. At FC higher than 10 it nearly went away. When I let it drift back down last week to 8 I felt like it was back but also when the water was nearly clear I eased up on brushing twice a day as I was doing.

I kinda just want to close up the pool and be done but I’ve been sitting with water temps of 66-68 last 3 days despite it being cool out so if it really is algae I’ll have a horrible mess to deal with in the spring if I close up like this.
