Does anyone know the correct product that should go behind the waterline tile for waterproofing? My guys says this is the stuff and also used it behind the tile on the front of my spa.

The tile around my spa went in today. I’m doing a pool owner build. I love how it looks but just got told by another contractor that this much tile under water is bad. Does anyone here have a ton of tile under water? Can you share your experience? My tile guy said he put a layer of waterproofing behind the tile (picture attached).
