Unfortunately, my spa has a leak! Yesterday, I isolated the spa from the pool, closing the spa drain and return.

After 24 hours I have checked the level and it’s down 6 inches. I thought to let it continue to drop till it stops and then I’ll be able to see where the problem is and get it repaired

My question, with the high temps in Las Vegas, and not wanting to dry out the quartz finish, should I wait till cooler temps in October? I do have a autocover and it’s covered, right now. Taking the measurements of the spa and 6” lost in 24 hours, it is approximately 190 gallons lost a day. I hate to waste water so what do you folks recommend? Wait or get it fixed now?

I cannot tell for sure by the picture, but it looks like you have a spill over spa. If so, we have had pool owners that have had a problem with the check valve at the return plumbing at the equipment platform (some of the owners did not have a check valve and that was the problem). This valve keeps the spa from draining into the pool. Could this be a possibility??

The spa is the same level as the pool. If I understand correctly, spas that are raised above the pool may need that check valve. I wanted the ability to completely cover the pool/spa with the autocover.

Could the spa finish dry out if covered in the Las Vegas heat by letting the water level drop, exposing the quartz finish under the cover?
